After graduating from high school, Young began training with seasoned wrestler Waldo Von Erich in Cambridge, Ontario. After ten weeks of training, she wrestled her debut game on October 14, 1998 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to face her friend Suicide Sean Ball. He then received additional training from Scott D'Amore and Chris Kanyon. After four months, he has wrestled in ten games and is consequently promoted to head coach. After his training is complete, Young starts working on an independent circuit. When wrestling is rare, Young subsidizes his earnings with a number of other jobs, including working in a pizza parlor, producing brass riding horses and sand casting. During his time in Ontario's independent arena, Young also owns and operates the Wrestleplex training facility from Cambridge. The leading wrestlers to get out of the gym include Jake O'Reilly, Ontario's mainstay Crazzy Steve and World Wrestling Entertainment Shawn Spears.

On June 30, 2007, Eric secured the APWF Heavyweight Lightweight Championship which defeated former four-time NWA World Light Heavyweight champion "Luscious" Rocky Reynolds in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

Young appeared on WWE television three times. The first is on WWE Velocity ; he teamed up with tag team partner Bobby Roode's future and was defeated by Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli. The second appearance is also on WWE Velocity where it was announced as "Showtime" Eric Young; he lost to Sean O'Haire. She appeared the next day on , losing the match against Val Venis.

Team Canada (2004-2006)

In January 2004, Young made his debut in TNA as a member of the Canadian Team. She took part in a World X Cup event, beating Jerry Lynn, Mr. ÃÆ' guila and Taichi Ishikari in a ladder match. The Canadian team is a regular feature of Impact! throughout mid 2004, hostile to 3Live Crew.

On October 15, 2004, Impact! Young and Bobby Roode beat Christopher Daniels and James Storm's "Cowboy" for the NWA World Tag Championship. They held the title until November 7, when they were defeated by 3Live Kru (represented by Konnan and B.G. James) on Victory Road. They again won the title a month later at Turning Point on 5 December, defeating B.G. James and Ron Killings.

Young and Roode began hostile to America's Most Wanted in early 2005, and lost the NWA World Tag Team Championship to America's Most Wanted on January 16 in Final Resolution. Young started working with Team Canada member Petey Williams, and on April 24, 2005 they failed to challenge America's Most Wanted for the NWA World Tag Team Championship at Lockdown. After defeating Apolo and Sonny Siaki at Hard Justice on May 15, Williams and Young challenged and lost to the World Team NWA World Champions Team The Naturals at Slammiversary on June 19th.

The Canadian team started feuding with The Naturals and Lance Hoyt, with Young, Roode, and A-1 defeating Hoyt and The Naturals at No Surrender on July 17th. America Most Wanted formed a loose alliance with The Naturals against the Canadian Team, with Young, Roode, Williams and A-1 defeating The Naturals and America's Most Wanted at TNA Sacrifice on August 14th. After Williams updated his pursuit in the Division X Championship, Young began working with A-1 on a regular basis. At Unbreakable on September 11th, Young and A-1 face America's Most Wanted, Alex Shelley and Johnny Candido and defending champion The Naturals in a four-way tag match. Young was able to pin Candido and "Wildcat" Chris Harris, but the Canadian team lost the match after Chase Stevens successfully pinned the A-1.

At Bound for Glory on October 23, Young, A-1 and Bobby Roode beat the 3Live Kru. After the match, their attempt to attack Konnan was thwarted by Kip James. That night, the Canadian Team stopped the 3Live Crew from saving Rhino from Planet Jarrett's attack, and then helping Jarrett put the Rhino inside the coffin they brought to the ringside. Because Team Canada and Planet Jarrett celebrated it together, the 3D Team entered the ring and, with the help of Kail that has now recovered, rode Planet Jarrett and Team Canada from the ring. Young, standing on the coffin, beaten by 3D by the 3D Team. He was then thrown to the coffin at the place of Rhino, who in turn stood on the coffin, celebrating his previous victory for the NWA World Class Championship over Jeff Jarrett. As a result of the events Bound For Glory, Young, Roode and A-1 face the 3Live Crew in a rematch in Genesis on November 13. The Canadian team lost in the match after Ron Killings pinned Young. The long-standing feud between Tim Canada and the 3Live Kru ended at the Turning Point on December 11 when Young, Williams, Roode and A-1 beat Crew and Kip James ("4Live Crew") after Konnan turned his comrades up.

After TNA's debut at Spike TV in October 2005, Young adopted a new character that is very paranoid and scared of almost anything and anyone. The character was introduced at the Artificial funeral staged by Planet Jarrett for the 3D Team on October 15, 2005 Impact! , when Young was surprised after Abyss destroyed a box of tissues offered to him, and then speculated that the burial chamber was haunted by a ghost named "Katie", a tongue-in-cheek reference to the WWE storyline "Katie Vick". The simplest things start scaring Young, including the fireworks that accompany the entrance of Team Canada. This character draws comparisons with South Park Tweek and Butters characters, and is often used for comic relief. During an interview on World X-Cup by SoCal Val during TNA Global Impact! Young says "The stranger scares me, they come from another country, and I do not know how to deal with that."

Two weeks after Sting and Christian Cage beat Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown in Final Resolution, Sting made his Impact! and announced his resignation. Jarrett wasted no time by pointing out that "after a game with me, Sting took his ball and headed home," and most Planet Jarrett agreed with the assessment. Young, however, becomes convinced that Sting is not lost, and evokes the anger of Jarrett and Scott D'Amore by often expressing that belief. In an effort to persuade Young that Sting had left, Jarrett commissioned Alex Shelley to get a tape of Sting at home with his children; However, this fails to dispel Young's fears. He insisted that Sting would come back and get each one of them, he would even go so far as to insist that fellow Planet member Jarrett should not call him with the nickname "Showtime" again, because of Sting's slogan "" It's showtime, folks! Younger lost to Sting on the main event 13 April 2006 Impact!

Paranoia Young does not always hinder her ability during matches She remains aggressive (even puts people through the table), will not hesitate to deceiving, and not afraid to take advantage of outside interference. He continues to be assisted by the Canadian Team and Planet Jarrett.

When Jim Cornette becomes the new face of management at TNA and says someone will be fired, Young is afraid it will become him. He's seen in Impact! holding a sign in the crowd that says "Do not fire Eric Young" as fans shout "Do not fire Eric!" with him. On June 29 Impact! Young wrestled like a favorite classic fan for fear of being fired, and tried to prevent his Canadian counterparts from doing something fraudulent. Cornette announced later that night. The Canadian team is now disbanded, but Young is more pleased than annoyed that the dismissed Earl Hebner, not Young. On July 14th Impact! , the Canadian team lost the match "all or nothing" (their only chance to stay together), leaving Team Canada out.

Feud with Robert Roode (2006-2007)

At Victory Road, the Canadian Team joins the ring for the last time. After running through how he feels about each member, Scott D'Amore stops at Young. He then blames Young for their destruction and makes him remove all Tim Canada items. D'Amore then says that he believes Eric Young will still be fired because he is to blame for the end of Team Canada. Young then stays in the ring after the others leave and starts a secret petition with the fans to keep his job. He will start announcing soon from "Undisclosed Location". Young continues to worry about his job security, creating his own "Do not Fire Eric" shirt.

Paranoia Young proved justified again because he was fired on October 5 Impact! after being hit with a golf club by Larry Zbyszko causing Young to lose the game "Loser fired". Due to Zbyszko's interruption, Jim Cornette gave Young a chance to get his job back by facing Zbyszko in the game "Loser Gets Fired" in Bound for Glory. Young wins and gets his job back. At the Genesis pre-show, Young scored a disappointment by beating former Canadian team-mates Robert Roode. This makes Roode angry and at Impact! Following this, Roode cut a promo against Young. The match starts the old rivalry between the two.

Young, later nicknamed "Paranoid Pied Piper of TNA" by broadcaster Mike Tenay, will soon be challenged for a bikini contest by his Roode counterpart, Ms. Brooks. Young accepted and defeated Ms. Brooks in a bikini contest at Turning Point on December 10, 2006, wearing a SpongeBob SquarePants bikini. Young continues his feud with Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks, with Ms. Brooks is trying to get Young to join "Robert Roode Inc.". Finally, on Against All Odds Ms. Brooks managed to persuade Young to sign a contract with "Robert Roode Inc.". This consequently sends him to an angle, where he is systematically insulted every week by Roode, by having to clean the toilets for personal use of Roode himself, and engage illegally in a Roode match. Young is forced to perform these tasks because the contract signed by Young gives Roode control over his TNA contract as well, so if he is fired from Roode, Inc., he is fired from TNA as well. He finally begins to oppose Roode's orders, partly because of the advice of a mysterious "friend". On April 26, 2007 Impact! , the "friend" was revealed as Jeff Jarrett. Young was finally released from his contract by defeating Roode in Slammiversary through an inner seat, after Gail Kim took Ms. Brooks. At Victory Road, Young and Kim will defeat Roode and Ms. Brooks in a Mixed Tag Team match. Around this time, Young will be billed as from "Freedomland, USA", a reference to Young who is free from his contract with Roode.

On August 2, 2007, Impact! , Roode has been racing and beaming Young on national television in the Impact Zone. On August 8th, at TNA Today, Young commented on the thrown and hairy insult, and then challenged Roode to "Humiliation Match" at Hard Justice. Roode will finally accept the challenge. Roode wins the match, but Gail Kim comes to help Young. Roode tried to attack him, but accidentally dropped Ms. Brooks instead. Roode retreated to a climb, leaving Brooks half-conscious to be plated and glorified by Young and Kim.

When Adam "Pacman" Jones joined the TNA, Young was desperate to get his autograph, but was eventually attacked by Ron Killings and sprayed by Pacman. Young started working with Shark Boy consistently, almost winning the number one ranking for the Tag Team Championship. Young was opposed to Judas Messiah in his official debut match, and was seriously injured despite the rescue efforts of Shark Boy. On October 4th edition Impact, Young faced and defeated James Storm in Gauntlet's game when he reversed Sleep's Sleep Detention into a pin. In Bound for Glory, Young won 15 Fight for the Right Battle Royal players by pinning Robert Roode with a small package to win the first round. He was knocked out of the tournament in the second half after being squeezed by Storm. From there, Young and Storm engage in a story line that sees them competing in a beer drinking contest, especially in Genesis, where Young takes the World Storm Beer Belt Drinking Championship after the Storm fainted. Young keeps the belt on Impact! last before Turning Point in the contest drew a speed of 60 seconds and won, but was attacked by Storm. He went on to defeat both Storm and Angle Alliance, the latter as Samoa Joe and substitute partner Kevin Nash for Scott Hall in a match at Turning Point.

Super_Eric_and_feud_with_the_Main_Event_Mafia_.282008.E2.80.932009.29 "> Super Eric and hostilities with Main Event Mafia (2008-2009)

On February 28th edition Impact! , Young lost the Beer Drinking Championship in a ladder game to James Storm. Young then participated in hostilities with Rellik, losing to Rellik on Impact! . This then causes the match in Goal X with Young teaming up with Kaz to defeat Rellik and Black Reign in a tag match. It's in pay-per-view that Young started a new superhero gimmick under the name "Super Eric", which should be his alter-ego. At Lockdown, he and Kaz win the "The Cuffed in a Cage" game to earn a future Tag Team Championship game. On April 17 Impact! Young (who left the game and returned as Super Eric) and Kaz won the World Tag Team Championship, but later in the night it was stripped of the title because Young did not admit he was Super Eric. On May 1 Impact! , he is working with A.J. The style, desperately seeking a couple backstage, and winning against The Rock 'n Rave Infection. He and Styles went to Sacrifice, as part of the Deuces Wild Tournament to crown the new Tag Team Champion, but lost to the eventual winner of The Latin American Xchange.

Young begins a gimmick where he'll see the streets of Memphis, Tennessee for Elvis. Gimmick took a hiatus at Slammiversary, after Awesome Kong attacked a fake Elvis con artist. He revived Super Eric's gimmick on July 17 Impact! And joined the Curry Man and Shark Boy as part of a parody of the Justice League, called "The Prince Justice Brotherhood", which at the same time made the fun of the name of former TNA wrestler wrestler, Abyss. In Bound for Glory IV, Super Eric competed in the Steel Asylum match, which was won by Jay Lethal.

On October 30 Impact! , A.J. Joe's style and Samoa create a stable called The TNA Frontline, which is a group that forms a young wrestler's faction to oppose the Mafia Main Events. This group includes wrestlers such as Eric Young, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Petey Williams, O.D.B. and Motor City Machine Gun. His character also evolved, as he was no longer paranoid and began to show his confidence and leadership ability. He also stopped being surprised by his pyrotechnic. On November 13th Impact! Young beat Sheik Abdul Bashir to win the TNA X Division championship after Bashir pushed the Official TNA Shane Sewell to the mat, leading to Sewell attacking Bashir, who gave Young a chance to hit Death Valley drivers in Bashir and pinch him. Next week at Impact! However, Young was stripped of the X Division Championship because of Sewell's interference, and the title was given back to Bashir. Young was awarded a championship game against Booker T for TNA Legends Championship, but lost due to a nuisance from Sharmell. In Final Resolution Sewell once again helped Young defeat Bashir for the Division X Championship. Due to the controversial end of the game he was stripped of the championship by Jim Cornette, who arranged the tournament for an empty title. Young beat Bashir in the first quarter-final tournament to move into the semi-finals. He then lost to Alex Shelley controversially after Chris Sabin bothered to see The Motor City Machine Guns face off in the final, which was won by Shelley.

On March 20, 2009, Young appeared on Danny Bonaduce's morning radio show at WYSP in Philadelphia where it was announced that they would both wrestle each other at Lockdown. Bonaduce mouthed and slapped him twice in the face before being pushed out of the room. At Lockdown shows, Young defeats Bonaduce. After the fight, Bonaduce attacked Young before Rhino came to the ring to help Young and then hit Gore on Bonaduce.

The World Elite (2009-2010)

Young begins to show his frustration over the loss of the likes of Sting and Jeff Jarrett. On May 28 Impact! Young turned his heel after attacking Jarrett, who had just beaten him in a King of the Mountain qualifying match. The following week he faced Jarrett and implicated him to pay more attention to wrestling than his daughter like his father, which caused Jarrett to slap him and start a fight. The following week Good Young friend Jeremy Borash confronts him in an interview that resulted in Young slapping JB. At the Slammiversary pre-show, heel turns became even more important when he quit his tag team partner, Rhino, in a match against British Invasion Doug Williams and Brutus Magnus. His rivalry with Rhino will continue until Young defeats Rhino after the diversion of Rhino's foster children, Jesse Neal. He will then be selected by Kurt Angle to be the special guest referee in a 3-way match in which Angle faces Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley. Throughout the game, he will continue counting all of Jarrett's efforts and at the end of the game when Angle locks an ankle lock on Foley, he orders the bell to ring even if Foley does not get out or faint. After the match, Young was beaten by Jarrett.

On July 23, 2009, edition of Impact! Young apologized for his rude comments and personal problems with Jeff Jarrett, and hoped Mick Foley was lucky in his match against Kurt Angle that night for possession of the TNA and stated "If you lose TNA I lose TNA If I lose TNA , I lost everything. " Foley allows Young to join the AJ team. Style, Daniels, James Storm, and Robert Roode to face the British Invasion, Kiyoshi, and Sheik Abdul Bashir in a ten-man team match. However, at the end of the game, he ignited the original TNA by pressing Styles with a piledriver spike and allowing him to be pinned. Eric Young then became the leader of a new faction called the World Elite, which consists of him (representing Canada), Bashir (representing Iran), Kiyoshi (representing Japan), and The British Invasion (representing the UK). The following week, Young helps Doug Williams and Brutus Magnus win the Tag Team IWGP Championship from the 3D Team. On August 6 Impact! revealed that Kurt Angle and Eric Young have made a deal to change the Main Mafia and the World Elite faction into a super faction. That same night, Young started with a new look that shaved his head and put on new clothes in a match in which he beat Daniels. On September 10th edition Impact! , World Elite recruited Murders (representing Puerto Rico) into their group, reversing his heels in the process. On October 1st edition Impact! an alliance between the World Elite and Main Event Mafia ended in a fight between the two factions. In Bound for Glory Young pinned Kevin Nash in a three-way dance, which also included Hernandez, to win the TNA Legends Championship. On October 29th edition Impact! , Young made his first title defense, losing to Bobby Lashley with disqualification. After the match Young changed the name of the Legends Championship to "TNA Global Championship" and claims he will not keep it on US soil or against any American wrestler. On November 19th edition, Impact! Kevin Nash congratulated Young for defeating him the previous month and joining the World Elite. On January 27, 2010, Young lost his Global Championship to World Elite teammate Rob Terry at a home show in Cardiff, Wales. Since the beginning of 2010 the World Elite has not appeared together and the only sign there is still an alliance between its members, apart from the British Invasion, has teamed up with Kevin Nash in the January 21 edition of Impact! in an effort to lose against The Nasty Boys.

Band and mental gimmick (2010-2011)

On February 11th edition Impact! Young began showing signs of a turn after standing for Kevin Nash after The Band of Scott Hall and Syxx-Pac had turned it on the previous week. The following week Young and Nash quarreled with Hall and Syxx-Pac and on March 8th edition Impact! Young beat Syxx-Pac in a single game, strengthening his status as a face. At Destination X Young and Nash encountered Hall and Syxx-Pac in a tag team match, in which the band's TNA futures were on the line. In the end Nash activates Young and helps the band win, which eventually gives them a contract with the company. On March 29th edition Impact! At the end of the game Young takes a lump on his head and on July 29 issue Impact! he reappears as a face, returning to the roots of his comic gossip with a gimmick of a person's mental challenge, teaming up with Orlando Jordan and giving him the cost of their tag team match against Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore), after throwing a mannequin in the ring, the first time he marked the match. The following week, Young's antics gave a distraction, which made Jordan play against D'Angelo Dinero. Young continues to work with Jordan in the following months, appearing exclusively at Xplosion , before returning to Impact! on the October 7 live edition, where they beat Ink Inc., after a low blow by Jordan. However, after Young's game announced that they lost the game because it was finished and suggested they make a rematch in Bound for Glory. In the storyline, Young's mental problems make him completely unaware of Jordan's bisexual orientation and attraction to him. In pay-per-view behavior Young charges him and Jordan matches against Ink Inc. On 4th November edition Impact!
