Biography
Personal life and confidence
Michael David Evans was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on June 30, 1947, to a untrained Jewish mother whose parents were immigrants from the Soviet Union. After leaving the United States Army, Evans moved to Texas where he earned an Associate of Arts degree from the Southwestern Assemblies of God College.
As a child, he suffered in the hands of his very anti-Semitic father, who was often drunk and violent, and beat his wife, claiming that Mike was not his son; he did not think he would survive until he was twenty. At the age of 11, he objected to his father beating his mother, and being attacked; when he recovers, he has what he describes as a dramatic encounter with Jesus Christ, who promises his future.
Mike Evans' wife, Carolyn, is the founder of the Christian Women's Association of the Year. Mike and Carolyn have four children, Michelle, Shira, Rachel and Michael II, and seven grandchildren.

It is a museum dedicated to telling the story of the ten Boom family, who harbored, fed, and found safe homes for as many as 800 Jews during the Dutch Nazi takeover during World War II. After buying and restoring the house, Mike Evans created the Fellowship Corrie ten Boom, the Christian Zionist organization.
Zion Friends Heritage Center
In 2015, Evans established the Friends of Zion Heritage Center in Jerusalem, with the primary aim of highlighting religious tolerance and investment dialogue between Christian Zionism and the State of Israel and the Jews. The 9th President of Israel's late President Shimon Peres is the international chair of Friends of Zion and he is the founder of the Friends of Zion Award given to world leaders such as President G.W. Bush, Prince Albert II of Monaco, and President R. Plevneliev of Bulgaria in honor of Israel's extraordinary support.
Jerusalem Prayer Team
Mike Evans started the Jerusalem Prayer Team in 2002, which raised money for Ehud Olmert's New Jerusalem Foundation. Recently, Jerusalem Prayer Teams funded the construction of the Mike Evans Museum in Jerusalem, now officially known as The Friends of Zion Heritage Center. Dr. Evans has been accused of being a Christian missionary because of his past history. In 1977, he led B'nai Yeshua, a Hebrew Christian group, active on campuses. The campaign that accused him of the argument on Long Island resulted in media coverage. Recent articles continue to simultaneously praise him for his pro-Israeli activism but warn of the possibility of a hidden agenda for converting Jews in Israel to Christianity or Hebrew Christian beliefs.
