Sandhyavandana (Sanskrit: ??????????? , < i> sandhy? vandana ) is a compulsory religious ritual performed, traditionally, by the Dvija of the Hindu community, especially beginning with a sacred ceremony called Upanayanam and instructed in its execution. by a Guru , in which case a person is qualified to teach the Vedic ritual. The Sandhy? Vandanam consists of readings from the Vedas, accompanied by rituals. This ritual is performed three times a day - in the morning ( pr? Sa? Sa? Dy? ), noon ( m? Dhy? Hnika ) and night ( s ? ya? sa? dhy? ).
Sandhyavandanam is the oldest liturgy still in the world religion. As a practice, it may be derived from a much older daily Agnihotra ritual.
Sandhyavandanam literally means "greeting to Sandhya". Sandhya, in turn, has traditionally been interpreted both as "the moment of transition today" (ie two dusk dawn and dusk), or as "the afternoon sun". Thus, Sandhyavandanam can be defined as a ritual of "hail to dusk or the afternoon sun".
The term sandhy? , when used by itself in the sense of "daily practice", may also refer to this ritual performance at the opening and closing days.
Steps in Sandhyavandan always include the following essential components:
- ? camana? and a? ga-vandana? consists of Name Sankirthana - take the names of God
- Pr ??? y? ma is an internal purest ritual through breathing exercises
- s? rya-upasth? that? ,
- M? ? and punar-m? ? is a ritual of self-purification
- Mantra Pr? k? a? am is a prayer for redemption
- ? ghamar? a? a? (done by some schools, especially Rig Vedins) is a prayer for forgiveness of sins
- G? yatri japa? is meditation
- G? yatri Upasth? nam is a prayer to the Hindu Hindu Partner (performed during morning prayer) and Varuna (performed during the night prayer)
- Abhiv? Funds are introductions offered to all deities. Usually follow the prostrations to the gods in every direction ( right? )
In addition to the Veda component in Sandhyavandanam, many include the following Tantric components:
- Navagraha tarpa? a? are offerings made daily for each of the nine planets.
The steps in Rigveda Sandhyavandan amounted to twenty-eight. The emerging needs for daily Sandhyaavandanam should increase.

The chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, traditionally, is performed 32, 64 or 108 times (it depends on the person performing the sandhyavandana, he can sing several times. "YathaSakti Gayatri mantra karishye mantra" is sankalpam in Sandhya vandana), depending on the recipe Vedas and Sutra practitioners , an integral part of Sandhyavandanam. Besides the mantra, the ritual sa? Dhy? includes other rites that purify and prepare (Sanskrit: Uddhi mantra), serve to prevent distracting thoughts and bring focus to the mind. Some of these offerings are water offerings to the gods of the planets and the Hindu calendar months, redeeming Sandhyavandanams not done and atone for the sins committed since the last hour of Sandhya. In addition, one of the most important rituals of Sandhyavandanam involves worshiping Matahari as a Partner in the morning and worshiping Varuna, at night.
Each Shakha of the Vedic sacred has a unique sandhyavandanam way. Shatatapa Smriti says a Dwija who does not do sandhyavandanam at least once will be a dog at the next birth. During Ashungam (during the death of each relative or the birth of a child), sandhyavandanam is done without water and Darbham (Kusha grass). At Trayodashi, during the minimum sandhya sandhya Gayatri japam and silence is determined by some vedic scholars. There are several additional spells at Navagraha Kesavathi Tarpana for the Bodhayana Sutra. They include the Yama spell, in addition to the Navagraha Kesavathi mantra.

Brahmin Daily Duty
Conducting Sandhya-vandana first creates a feasibility for a brahman to perform all the rituals that follow. The rituals performed without sandhya-vandanam are regarded as devoid of results by Dharma ?? stra. Thus, sandhyavandanam forms the basis or is considered the basis for all other Vedic rituals. After doing Sandhyavandanam (m? Dhy? Hnika-sandhy?) To get rid of sin occurs due to lunch preparation such as boiling rice, cutting vegetables, burning firewood etc. In Vaishvadeva homa rice cake offered to vishvadevas (all devata).
Miscellaneous
Another aspect of the ritual, though, speaking strictly, not included in Sandhyavandanam, may include meditation, other spell chants (Sanskrit: japa ), and special devotional practices for gods favored by practitioners. Regarding the relationship with the practice of meditation, Monier-Williams notes that if it is considered an act of meditation, sandhy? may be connected to the etymology of san-dhyai .
Depending on belief - Smartha, Sri Vaishnava, Madhva - this mantra or procedure has little change, while the main mantra is like m? Rjana? (sprinkling water), pr ?? ana? (drinking water), punar-m? rjana? and arghya-prad? na? remains the same in 95% of cases. Sm? Rtas (Advaitins) has aiky? Nu-Sandh? Nam, where they (Yajur Vedins) recite verses from b? Had? Ra? Yaka Upanishad (brahmair v? Ha? Asmi).Sivaprasad Bhattacharya defines it as "Hindu liturgical prayer code."
