Preparation for Total Conscience by Saint Louis Marie de Montfort was inspired by Louis de Montfort and published in 2001. Saint Louis devoted his life to following and praying to the Virgin Mary. Her devotion to Mary was even considered "the best and most acceptable form of devotion to Our Lady" by Pope Pius IX. Four of his miracles were examined by the Holy Council. Saint Louis de Montfort was canonized by Pope Pius XII on July 20, 1947, more than two hundred years after his death. This process took a very long time due to the lack of followers and the unfortunate era in which he died. Two biographies, one by the Grandet and the other Father de CloriviÃÆ'¨re, are both dated to the 1700s, which were a period of "enormous social and religious upheaval."

Process Consecration
The purpose of the consecration is to free ourselves from the spirit of the world and to be fully in harmony with the life of Jesus and Mary. This particular consecration is a thirty-three-day process in which the last day falls on the feast day of the Blessed Virgin.
Part I: The Twelve Early Days
The first twelve days of consecration are set aside as the earliest days, which are meant to remove oneself from all outside obstacles. Saint Louis de Montfort stated that "part of this preparation should be used to drive out the spirits of the world that are contrary to those of Jesus Christ." After a brief introduction to the early days were given, St. Louis gave a list of three prayers to be said every day. These prayers include Veni Creator, Avi Maris Stella, and Magnificat. Every day also requires a short meditation that is meant to be reflected before the prayer. Daily meditation tends to include one or two Bible verses accompanied by some reflective words from the saint itself.
Part II: Self-Knowledge
After twelve days is over, consecration shifts to Part II: Knowledge of Self. In this part, the purpose of Saint Louis de Montfort for the consulrator is to "consider not so much contradiction between the spirit of Jesus and us, as a miserable and embarrassing country that has been annihilated by our sins." Prayer for this period is slightly longer, consisting of the Litani Roh Kudus , the Saint of the Holy Virgin , and Ave Maris Stella .
Section III: Knowledge of Maria
Once the Knowledge of the Weekend is completed, the next part of the consecration that will be prayed for is Part III: Knowledge of Mary. During this period, it is important to reflect on "the inner life of Mary, that is, her kindness, her feelings, her actions, her participation in the mystery of Christ and union with Him." The prayers for this section are the same as before. However, the consecator says the daily rosary is in the middle of the other. This week is a more challenging part for consecrators, as this leads to an hour to two hours of prayer and reflection.
Part IV: Knowledge of Jesus Christ
The fourth and final part of the consecration of Saint Louis de Montfort is the Knowledge of Jesus Christ. Prayers for this passage include Litany of the Holy Spirit , Ave Maris Stella , Litany of the Holy Name of Jesus , Prayer of Louis de Montfort to Jesus , and O, Jesus Living in Mary . At the end of the consecration, usually the consecrator is to buy a wearable chain on the wrist as a continuous reminder of one's slave slave to Mary and Jesus. In order for complete consecration, the consecrator must attend Mass on the last day, take part in the confession both a week before or after, and do personal penance for Mary.
