Blessed Alexandrina Maria da Costa, from Balazar, is a Portuguese mystic who reports many personal appearances, messages and prophecies received directly from Jesus and Mary. In June 1938, at the request of his spiritual director, Father Mariano Pinho, several bishops from Portugal wrote to Pope Pius XI, asking him to sanctify the world into the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The fall of Stalingrad began a few days later also with the siege of 19 November 1942. Stalingrad surrendered on the feast of Mary, February 2, 1943. This view is not shared by everyone but is popular among the Marians of Pope Pius XII.

Interpretation
