Fine Young Cannibals is a British rock band formed in Birmingham, England in 1984, by bassist David Steele, guitarist Andy Cox (both of The Beat), and singer Roland Gift (formerly of Akrylykz). Their 1985 debut album titled "Johnny Come Home" and the cover of "Suspicious Minds", two songs that are above 40 hits in England, Canada, Australia and many European countries. Their 1988 album, The Raw & amp; The Cooked , topped the UK and US album charts, and contains two Hot 100 Billboard numbers: She Drives Me Crazy and Good Thing.
In 1990 the band won two Brit Awards: Best British Group, and Best British Album (for The Raw & the Cooked ). Their name comes from the 1960 All The Fine Young Cannibals film starring Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood.

Histori
The group was formed in 1984 after the dissolution of The Beat, with whom Cox and Steele previously played. Duo Steele and Cox spent eight months listening to over 500 potential cassette tapes before picking a Reward. They were having trouble getting a record deal, but when the video of their song "Johnny Come Home" appeared on the British TV show The Tube, the recording of the contract offer went live. The band's debut album was released in 1985, spawning two British hit singles, "Johnny Come Home" and Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds" cover featuring additional vocals by Jimmy Somerville. Both of these songs also became international hits, charted in the top 40 in Europe, Canada and Australia, although they failed to make a significant impact on the US charts.
Fine Young Cannibals performed as a band house at a nightclub in the 1987 comedy film Tin Men and also contributed a song for the movie soundtrack.
In the gap between their first and second albums, Steele and Cox released a single instrumental house under the moniker "Two Men, a Drum Machine and a Trumpet" in 1988, called "Tired of Get Pushed Around", reaching No. 1. 18 on the UK Singles Chart and popular on the US dance chart. During this time, the Prize appeared in the movie Sammy and Rosie Get Laid .
The band continued their international success with singles "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing", from the 1989 album The Raw & amp; Cooked . The latter song was the number one in the US, above the Hot 100 Billboard on July 8, 1989. The song also peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. Raw & amp; the Cooked includes three songs that the band has recorded for Tin Men (including "Good Thing"), and their cover from Buzzcocks' "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Do not Have to) 've) "was recorded for the movie Something Wild .
In 1990, the band contributed a cover version of Cole Porter's song "Love for Sale" for the Red Hot Blue album produced by the Red Hot Organization, a collection of 20 Cole Porter songs recorded by various artists as a benefit to AIDS research.
Fine Young Cannibals broke up in 1992, though they briefly returned to the studio in 1996 to record a new single, "The Flame", which will complement their greatest hits compilation The Finest released that year. In the early 2000s, Prizes (without Steele or Cox) reactivated band names and toured as Roland Gift and Fine Young Cannibals.
